ARREST OF SHIPS
WRONGFUL DETENTION ALLEGED CLAIM BY JAPANESE INTERESTS DARWIN, June 1. Writs, claiming £IO,OOO damages from the Commonwealth Government for the wrongful detention of two Japanese vessels, have been lodged by counsel on behalf of Jauanese interests. The claims arise out of the arrest and subsequent release of the sampan, Seiche Maru, and the mother ship, New Guinea Maru. by the patrol boat Larrakia last June.
