annual report The annual report of the Dunedin Scottish Society, to be presented at the annual meeting on June 9. states, inter alia: — Membership shows a steady increase, and many new members have been proposed for the coming year. The secretary (Mr A. McEachran) resigned, and the executive appointed the treasurer (Mi W. S. Hall) to the vacancy till the end of the financial year. At the annual social held in October Mr J Jeffrey represented the council of Scottish societies, and Mr McNab, principal o r the McGlashan College, was the speaker for the evening To all those who assisted the society with gifts and prizes the executive extends its thanks. To the official piper (Mr R. Hornal) and the official pianist (Mrs Munro) the members also offer their thanks The society is indebted to the Dunedin Highland Pipe Band for valuable services rendered throughout the year Meetings of the executive have been very well attended. The president (Mr W. P. Smith) and several vice-presidents were present at all the meetings.
