DARING BURGLARY
POST OFFICE ENTERED HEAVY SAFE REMOVED (Pun United Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 31. Bursting in the front door of the Glen Eden Post Office last night, thieves removed the safe, weighing 3cwt, which contained over £2OO in cash, postal notes, and stamps. The safe later was found in Shaw road, three miles distant. It had been blown open with gelignite and £75 in cash extracted. The postal notes and stamps were left. The burglary was discovered this morning by a newsboy. Residents heard an explosion early in the morning.
