WAIKATO WINTER SHOW
HIGH QUALITY OF EXHIBITS SUCCESS OF WYNDHAM FACTORY (Per United Press Association) HAMILTON, May 30. N An outstanding feature of the butter exhibits at the Waikato Winter Show, based on a comparison with previous years, stated the judges, was the remarkable uniformity in all classes, the number of exhibits which would score under finest grade being practically non-existent Special reference was made to the high quality of the butter taken trom an ordinary shipment. The finish and general appearance of the exhibits was attractive and the managers were to be congratulated on giving attention to this most necessary detail.
In the cheese section, the judge* stated that while the exhibitors were to be congratulated on the attractive appearance of the cheese benched, in a number of instances firmer bodies would have been preferable. Mechanical openness was not much in evidence, but slithy texture v/as fairly general. Flavours were generally sound and satisfactory, but in a few instances a scorched flavour was evident, this being a characteristic which should be avoided as it had a tendency to cause bitterness in flavour.
