In the House of Commons Mr Cahan agreed to the withdrawal of the Bill proposing the abolition of appeals to the Privy Council, when the Attorney-general (Mr E, Lapointe) approved of Mr R. B. Bennett’s suggestion that a committee should study the establishment of some Empire tribunal to settle disputes between British countries, including the United Kingdom, members to be drawn from every part of the Empire. Mr Lapointe pointed out that the proposal had not been favourably received by Imperial Conferences.
