REASON FOR REORGANISATION MAINTAINING CLOSER TOUCH (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 26. With regard to the reorganisation of administration of the New Zealand Naval Forces, the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) said to-day that the intention in authorising the appointments recently made is for the purpose of so organising the administration that the officer responsible for advising on policy is daily in touch with the Minister, the Council of Defence. and the Government The chief of the Naval Staff in his personal capacity would also be in charge of Imperial interests and the vessels on the New Zealand station He therefore would be in a position to keep the Government in close touch with the naval aspect of Imperial affairs in the Pacific. The changes do not involve any increase in personnel.
