OFFICIAL FORECAST COOL CHANGE EXPECTED The following is the official weather forecast: — The recent anticyclone is moving away eastward. A rather deep depression is advancing across the south Tasman Sea, while another is approaching Norfolk Island from the north. Pressure has risen over eastern Australia. Indications are for:— Winds.—Moderate to strong northeast to northerly, reaching gale force in some exposed positions, a change to southerlies commencing in the south and gradually extending northwards. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rather rough to rough north of East Cape and the Cook and Foveaux Strait areas and south of Hokitika; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong northerly winds, but a change to south-wester-lies advancing from the west and south-west; seas rather rough to rough. Cloudy and showery weather, with a fresh wind from the east to the northeast, was experienced during the day. The maximum temperature was 64 degrees.
