Mr J. A. Roy, MP., arrived in Dunedin yesterday from the south. Mr A. E. Ansell returned yesterday from Wellington. Mr W. Herbert left yesterday for Wellington on Conciliation Council business. Mr J. L. Passmore returned from Wellington yesterday by the through express. Mr W. C. Whitworth, Otago manager of the Self Help Co-op., Ltd., left for Wellington by the express yesterday. Mr A. McCallum, of the Department of Internal Affairs, left on a business trip yesterday morning for Christchurch. Mr C. S. Young, who has been manager of the Timaru branch of the South British Insurance Company for the last 19 years, left yesterday to take over the managership of the Wanganui branch. Mr R. Love, who is superintending the construction of the buildings of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition at Wellington, left for the north yesterday after a short visit to Dunedin. Sergeant McEntee, who is in charge of the Rangiora police district, and who was formerly stationed at South Dunedin, is at present spending a holiday in Dunedin. By a unanimous vote Mr J. A. McLean was re-elected chairman of the North Auckland Electric Power Board. Mr McLean has been chairman since 1924 and a member since 1916. At the meeting of the Otago Boys' and Girls' High Schools' Board yesterday it was decided to nominate Mr W. R Brugh to represent the Secondary Schools' Boards on the University Council for a further period of two years. It was stated that Mr Brugh has also been nominated by the Waitaki High Schools' Board. The Union Airways liner Kotuku left the Taieri Airport at 8.15 yesterday morning for Christchurch, Blenheim and Palmerston North, with Messrs R. L Arlow and R. B. Gibbons for Christchurch. Messrs R. Smythe, A. E. Sim ana R. McDonald for Wellington, and Mr C. Marshall a through passenger for Gisborne. The south inbound liner Korimako arrived at 2.45 p.m. from the north with Mr J. H. White from Wellington and Messrs E. J. Thomson and S. Perl from Christchurch.
