C.R. Bro. G. Benfell presided at the fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise The woodwards’ report on the sick members was satisfactory. An invitation was received from Court King Edward’s Pride for May 19 to an old-time dance, from Court Pride of Dunedin on May 23, to Bro. Baxter’s evening, and from Court St Andrew for Mav 30 to a table tennis tournament. All were accepted and it was decided to attend officially P.C.R Bro, H Hogg is to arrange for four players for Court St, Andrew’s tournament One candidate was initiated into the Order by the C.R with tire usual formalities. P.C.R Bro D Mercer taking the second pari and the S.C.R, (Bro Stevenson) welcoming the new brother with the Foresters’ toast. Two death claims were passed for payment. It was decided to change the date of the tartan evening to June 21 on account of the night arranged falling on the night after the Foresters’ ball P.C.R. Bro. Brettell was granted leave of absence from May 24 to June 7. The following courts were invited to the tartan evening—Courts Pride of Leith, St. Andrew, Woodland’s Pride, King Edward’s Pride, Pride of Dunedin, and Marion (Mosgiel). One proposition was received for next court night. After the close of the meeting the visitors were received for the 500 tournament, the winners being Bros. Patterson and Ross, both receiving prizes presented by P.C.R Bro George Wright.
