INTOXICATED MOTORISTS
SUSTENANCE WORKER SENT TO GAOL SIX WEEKS’ HARD LABOUR (Per United Press Association) ASHBURTON, May 13. James Simpson,' a lorry driver, on sustenance, was sentenced to six weeks’ hard labour and had his licence cancelled for two years on charges of having driven a motor car negligently and of driving when intoxicated. Simpson ran into a cyclist Tuke Reihana was fined £l2 10s for being intoxicated while in charge of a car, and was prohibited from obtaining a licence for three years.
