MOTORIST ACQUITTED
FATALITY AFTER DANCE COLLISION WITH MOTOR CYCLIST iPer United Press Association) TIMARU, May 4. After a hearing lasting two days, the jury to-night returned a verdict of not guilty on both counts in the case" against Bernard James Simmons, aged 22, who was charged with negligently driving a car at Pleasant Point on March 18, thereby causing the death of James Samuel Bell and causing bodilv injury to George Thomas Keen. Keen also succumbed to his injuries some days after the accident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning after a dance. Bell and Keen were on a motor cycle, and came into collision with the car on a straight road.
