QUOTA ON IMPORTS
THE BRITISH PROPOSALS EFFECT ON DOMINION TRADE LONDON, Mar. 3. Mr W. J. Jordan, speaking at an Industries Fair luncheon at Birmingham, said New Zealand desired to continue buying from Great Britain, but he feared the purchases would be limited if Britain insisted on placing a quota on imports from New Zealand, which would then be compelled to seek other markets. There could not be a one-way trade. New Zealand must buy where she sold in order to receive payment for her goods.
