Miss Norah Nutt will leave this morning for Lake Te Anau.
Miss Margaret Newlands and Miss Molly McKenzie, of Ngapara, returned on Wednesday from an enjoyable trip in the North Island.
. Miss W. Broughan will leave by the express this morning to connect with the Mariposa at Auckland on Monday, en route for America, England, and the Continent.
The collection of British masters from the National and Tate Galleries, ■London, arranged by'the Empire Art Loan Collections Society, will be opened by Sir Percy Sargood in the 'Art Gallery, Logan Park, on Tuesday, at 3 p.m.
• The "death has occurred of Mrs Evelyn Penelope Oakden, wife of Mr Harry Percy Oakden, of Hamilton; at the age of 75 years. Mrs Oakden was a granddaughter of Judge William Valpy, who came out to New Zealand in the ship Blundell in 1849. and purchased what is now known as Forbury Park. Mr and Mrs Oakden were married in Dunedin in 1886, and celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding in Hamilton in November. Mrs Oakden is survived by her husband. thre6 sons and three daughters.
