Sir James Allen, M.L.C., returned to Dunedin by the express yesterday afternoon. Mr A. S. Falconer returned from the north by the afternoon express yesterday. Mr P. McSkimming returned to Dunedin by the express irom the north yesterday afternoon. , Mr F. Waite, M.L.C., was a through passenger from the north by the express yesterday afternoon. Captain E. G. Morris. Director of Naval Reserves, returned to Wellington by the mid-day express yesterday after inspecting the Otago Division, R.N.V.R., in connection with his administrative duties. Messrs A. G. Lunn and A. O. Heany, president and secretary respectively of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, left by the mid-day express yesterday for Christchurch in continuation of their South Island tour. Mr W. Jacobsen, president of the Otago Justices of the Peace Association, accompanied by Mr F. W. Knight, left by the through express yesterday morning to attend the Justices' Conference at New Plymouth. , Mr E. S. Tuckwell left by the north express yesterday to join the firm of Messrs Morison, Spratt, Morison, and Taylor, solicitors, Wellington. r Lieutenant Tom Spiller, who is on a lecture tour of New Zealand after nine months' fighting in Spain with the International Brigade, arrived yesterday by the first express from Christchurch. He was welcomed by representatives of the National Executive of the New Zealand Spanish Medical Aid Committee. Sir Cyril Ward, who will make a business visit to Great Britain and the Continent, has been granted five months' leave of absence by the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce. The secretary of the Caledonian Society has been advised by the Registrar of the University of Otago that the chairman of the Professorial Board has approved of the Caledonian bursary being awarded to Allan Ronald Duff, a son of Mr William Duff. ' Mr Samuel Lancelot Henry was admitted by Mr Justice Kennedy as a solicitor of the Supreme Court yesterday morning, on the motion of Mr J. H. Main, of Oamaru. The Union Airways liner Kotuku left the Taieri airport at 8.15 yesterday morning for Christchurch, Blenheim, and Palmerston North with Mr R. A. Cochrane, Messrs R. W. Parkhurst. and C. H. Perkins for Christchurch, Mr D. Riley for Wellington, and Mr E. D. Wilkinson a through passenger for Auckland. The Korimako arrived from the north at 3 p.m. with Miss E. Wainhouse, a through passenger from Auckland, Messrs J. Moody, D. G. Archer, and A. P. Greenfield from Christchurch.
