FAREWELL BY TELEPHONE
MAN LATER FOUND DEAD BROTHER’S UNAVAILING SEARCH (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 25. A sad appeal over the telephone by one brother to another started an unavailing search through the city yesterday afternoon for the man who made the appeal. The search ended at a late hour last evening with the finding of the missing man dead in a public convenience. He was Frank Mclnnes, aged 29, of Mount Eden. At the inquest before the coroner (Mr F. K. Hunt) to-day, Neil Mclnnes said that his brother was a married man employed as a van driver. He did not know of any financial or domestic worries that his brother had. Late yesterday afternoon his brother telephoned, asking him to come to town immediately. When witness asked why, the reply was: “Just stay with my wife.” On being pressed his brother said he was going to do away with himself and he added: “ Good-bye, boy, and thank you for what you have done for me.” Witness then came to town and started a search.
