A TOMB IN EGYPT

PROBABLY THAT OF AHAMENES ALABASTER VASES ENCLOSED LONDON, Jan. 6. (Received Jan. 6, at 11.30 p.m.) The Cairo correspondent of the Daily Telegraoh says that a tomb found at Sakkara may prove the original burial place of Ahamenes, the first king of the first dynasty of historical kings of Egypt, which he founded. Historians variously place the date of his death at 5546 to 3500 B.C A small tomb discovered at Abydos years ago had previously been regarded as the royal necropolis of the first dynasty. The Sakkara tomb had been rifled, but contained alabaster vases.
