THE TERRITORIAL ARMY
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE TO INQUIRE (British Official Wireless) RUGBY. Dec. 7. The personnel of the committee to inquire into the general administration of the Territorial Army was announced in the House of Commons. The Under-secretary for War, Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal, will be chairman. The other members are Major-general Sir John Brown (Deputy Director-general of the Territorial Army), Colonel Viscount Cobham (vice-chairman of the Council of Territorial Army Associations), Colonel Sir Robert Johnson (Deputy Master Controller of the Royal Mint), and Mr J. R. Wade, of the War Office. The inquiry will cover the organisation and finance of county associations and simplification of relations between the War Office and the associations on the one hand and the associations and units on the other. GREATER NUMBER OF RECRUITS (British Official VneJess) RUGBY, Dec. 7. (Received Dec. 8, at 5.5 p.m.) Mr L. More Belisha (Minister for War) stated in the House of Commons that during the year ended October 31 43.923 recruits were finally approved for the territorial army —an increase of 10,526 on the number finally approved during the preceding year. The figure is a record one for a normal year.
