DEATH FROM BURNS SEQUEL TO BLAZE IN HOUSE (Pep United Press Association) TE KUITI, Dec. 8. The death occurred last night of Mrs Sarah Emily Parkes. aged 46, wife of Mr P. G. Parkes, of Aria, as a result of burns and shock received when her home was burnt down the previous night. She and her three daughters, the only occupants of the house, escaped from the fire, but later, under the impression that one of the children was inside, the deceased rushed back, and her night attire was ignited. The daughters beat out the flames and went three-quarters of a mile to a neighbour’s, fro’ - where the deceased was taken to To Kuiti Hospital. PETROL EXPLOSION BOY SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES (Per United Press Association) HAMILTON, Dec. 8. John Scurr, aged five, of Rotowaro, who was severely burnt through a petrol explosion at a filling station at Rotowaro on Monday, succumbed to his injuries last evening DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE An inquest into the death of Arthur Ernest Liddicoat, who was found dead at 103 Maclaggan street on Tuesday morning, was held before Mr J. R. Bartholomew. S.M., yesterday. Sergeant Irwin represented the police. Evidence was given by Constable Sugrue. who found the deceased lying on the floor dead, and by Jane Liddicoat. the wife of the deceased, who said that the latter had lived alone at the address where he had been found. Dr W Evans stated that in his opinion death was due to heart failure following anaemia. The coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence. BURNS PROVE FATAL Information was received by the police yesterday that Elizabeth Joy Fleming, aged one year and 10 months, who resided at Lawrence, had died in the Lawrence Hospital as a result of burns accidentally received on November 21 An inouest will be held. SWALLOWED A BOLT Alexander Grey aeed two years and a-half. residing with his parents at the school house. Mosgiel. swallowed a bolt yesterday afternoon. He was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 4.30 for treatment.
