MILTON Foresters A number of members of Court Little John (Roslyn), A.0.F., will pay their annual customary visit to Court Bruce, A.0.F., on Saturday evening. The visitors will be entertained at a complimentary social and dance. P.C.R. Bro. R. Robertson, of Tdkoiti, Milton, has been presented by Court Star of Dunstan, A.0.F., with the Foresters’ 25 years’ long-service medal. There were four other recipients of the medal at the complimentary social tendered by the Dunstan Court in their honour, Bro. Robertson has been a member of Court Star of Dunstan for 49 years, and served as a trustee for 14 years. He severed his active connection with that court in 1911 on hit removal to the Milton district. “Learn to Swim” Week Owing to inability to make satisfactory arrangements for the services of an efficient coach, the Toko Amateur Swimming Club has postponed its adult “Leam to Swim” Week until a later date. Personal On the eve of leaving Milton to take up residence at Cromwell, to which post office her husband will transfer this week, Mrs C. J. Elder was entertained at afternoon tea by a number of personal friends, and presented with a small token of remembrance from her friends. Mr John Paul, a well-known Mtltoa resident, left last week on an extended holiday visit to Gisborne, as tho guest of a daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs W. A. Hall. The Bruce County Council was represented by Cr D. McGregor and Mr J. H. Bateman (engineer) in the annual complimentary week-end excursion to the Hermitage, Mount Cook, tendered to representatives of local bodies by the Mount Cook Tourist Company. Weight-judging Competition The first prize in the Toko Farmers' Club’s sheep competition at the summer show was won by Mr W. Jeffery (Dunedin), whose estimate of 516} 1b was nearest to the correct weight (526J1b) of three live sheep. Mr R. Maginess (Balclutha) won the second prize with an estimate of 5031 b.
