BRITISH ARMY COUNCIL
CHANGES IN PERSONNEL TO TAKE IMMEDIATE EFFECT (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Dec. 6. Mr L. Hore-Belisha (Secretary for War), in the House of Commons, said the Army Council changes would all have taken effect by the new year. Merit, character, ability, as well as suitability for any particular office, would be the guiding consideration, regardless of youth, age, or mere seniority, in the event of any further appointments. All appointments would be made on the assumption that the holders would be able to hold their posts under conditions of active service.
