" Reptile," Mornington.—The mosasaurus was a large marine reptile of mesozoic times, inhabiting many parts of the world. Its nearest living relative is the iguana. Fossil remains were found at Amuri Bluff and North Canterbury, and casts are in the Otago Museum. " Curious," Balclutha. —In general terms ordinary white bread is made from certain parts of wheat, which are converted into highly refined flour. In the manufacture of wholemeal bread practically all parts, of the wheat are used. Wholemeal bread is considered by some authorities to be a more nutritious and natural food than the loaf manufactured from very fine flour. There are arguments on both sides of the question.
