«a> THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM BADLY BEATEN BY LEEDS LONDON, Dec. 1. Leeds defeated the Kangaroos by 21 points to 8, after leading by 7 points to 6 at half time. The Leeds team contained three Australians, including the captain (Hey). The game was played in freezing, foggy weather, and the ground had been covered with straw. The Kangaroos led 5—3 at an early stage. After that they were completely outplayed.
