THREE MEN CHARGED WITH .POSSESSION DETECTIVES’ OBSERVATIONS (Per United Press Association) , WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. , Charged with being found at 2.15 a.m. on November, 7 at Paraparaumu, and haviffg in their possession without lawful excuse instruments for' housebreaking, William Mcßeynolds, aged 29, a ship’s fireman, William Henry Roberts, aged 54, a cleaner,, and Stuart Aldred, aged 32, a taxi driver, were before the court. The evidence of detectives was that, following inquiries and. observations, a party, went out to Paraparaumu, got on the track of the taxi, and eventually stopped it and questioned the'occupants. A Search revealed a tobacco tin containing If sticks of gelignite, 14 pieces of fuse, four detonators, and two small tieces of wood. All the men denied knowing anything about the material. Two pairs of socks were found in Mcßeynolds’s overcoat pocket and a pair in Roberts’s possession, though he was wearing none. On the arrival of the police car in Wellington, Mcßeynolds was asked for a pair of gloves he was wear ing at Paraparaumu, but he said he threw them out of the window. There was a search at the watchhouse, and the gloves were found between the outside cloth and the lining of ar. overcoat.
