During the first nine months of this year 418 lives have been rescued from shipwreck round the coasts of Great Britain and Ireland, the largest figure for such a period for the last 17 years “Swansea Jack.” a retriever owned by Mr William Thomas, which saved 29 persons from drowning and was arded many cups, medals, and shields, including the “Dog V.C.,” has died at Swansea.
