OFFICIAL FORECAST NO IMMEDIATE CHANGE The following is the official weather forecast:— The anti-cyclone which has dominated the situation for the past few days still covers New Zealand, but is losing intensity. Pressures are low and conditions disturbed over the whole of the south-west Pacific Islands area, and a rather deep cyclone is located north of New Caledonia Indications are for:— Winds—Moderate to strong southeasterly to easterly from Cook Strait northwards: elsewhere light to moderate and variable, but northerlies prodominating at first. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rathex rough to rough north of Kaikoura and in the South Taranaki Bight; elsewhere slight to moderate. , Eastern Tasman Sea; Moderate to strong easterly winds, with rather rough to rough seas, in the northern portion, and moderate northerly winds, later backing to southerlies, in the southern portion, with moderatde seas. Weather.—Still mainly fair, but cloudy and misty at times in northern and eastern districts, with scattered rain probable on the east coast of the North Island. Another fine, sunny day was experienced in Auckland. The wind was moderate from the north until late in the afternoon, when it veered to the south. The maximum temperature was 76deg.
