Nov. 29 The suggestion that die shooting of deer from aeroplanes would more expeditiously and thoroughly cope with the menace does not Ind favour vith the Minister of Internal Affairs M> W. Mr Parry added thai a plane and machine gun would not be as practicable ->r as effective as rifles m thehands of experienced men. Referring to the suggestion toi the utilisation through the markets of some Hcer carcasses Mr Parrv said the worst deer-in f .e"cted areas were in rough, mountainous country and il was not possible to save a large number ol the skins. That gave some idea of the impossibility of getting out venison in any quantity.
