ASTRONOMICAL NOTES FOR DECEMBER
THE SUN The sun’s path during the month of December will be through the constellations of Ophiuchus and Sagittarius, in R.A. from 16.26.33 to 18.38.45, in south declination from 21.42.35 to 23.8,50, and in longitude from 248.22.18 to 278.53.21. The summer solstice occurs on the 22nd. THE MOON The phases of the moon will be as under: —
THE PLANETS Mercury will be in R.A. from 17.41.13 to 18.29.3, and in south declination from to 20.34.42, It will be m conjunction with the moon on the sth, at its greatest elongation on the 12th, it will be stationary on the 20th, and in inferior conjunction with the sun on Venus will be in R.A. from 15.22.37 to 18.2.7, and in south declination from 17.26.13 to 23.31.13. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 2nd. Mars will be in R.A. from 21.8.57 to 22.36.18, and in south declination from 17.54.11 to 9.47.39. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 9th. Jupiter will be in R.A. from 19.52.30 to 20.19.13, and in south declination from 21.25.21 to 20.7.14. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 7th. Saturn will be in R.A. from 23.57.51 to 0.0.25, and in south declination from 2.54.9 to 2.29.58. It will be stationary on the 2nd, and in conjunction with the moon on the 12th. • Neptune will be stationary on the 24th.
