Lambden, chairman of the Auckland Citrus Growers' Association, at a meeting of citrus fruitgrowers in the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. Mr Lambden, who detailed what had been done to improve the present conditions since the Government had established a Citrus Marketing Authority, emphasised the necessity for standardisation of fruit, which, he said, was the only way in which uniformity in quality could be ensured and satisfaction given to all. After considerable discussion, the meeting decided to see by means of a questionnaire the most, favoured methods of curing, packing, and distribution of lemons, also to ask the Minister of Marketing (Mr D. G. Sullivan) to expedite the legislation necessary to put the citrus industry on a proper marketing basis.
