SOUTH ISLAND CONFERENCE SHOW DATES ALLOTTED (Per United Press Association) ASHBURTON. Nov. 19. Encouraging prospects for the coming year are mentioned in the thirtyseventh annual report of the South Island Poultry Conference. ThirtyIwo societies are affiliated, 18 of which hold public shows. The year ended with a credit balance of £207. The following officers were elected;— President, Mr G. H. Bradford (Christchurch) ; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Pearce; members of council—Messrs H. W. Lowery, A. W. Pritchard, J. D. Gobbe, F. Ainsworth. C. A. Gallop, F. Kingsford, R. W. Thompson, and G. W. Duggan. The conference fixed show dates as follows: — Dunedin Specialists—April 29 and 30. Christchurch—June 2,3, and 4. Dunedin —June 23, 24, and 25. North Canterbury—July 1 and 2. Waimate—June 24 and 25, Oamaru —July 8 and 9. Taieri—July 1 and 2. Tapanui—July 8. Balclutha—June 17 and 18, Gore—July 14. 15, and 16. Invercargill—June 10 and 11. Wakari-Kaikorai—May 27 and 28. Tuatapere—April 27 and 28. Hokitika —July 22 and 23. Nelson—July 15 and 16. Marlborough—July 8 and 9. Westport—June 24 and 25. The allotting of a date for the Oamaru Specialist Show was held over. One hundred South Island and 17 New Zealand championships were allotted.
