ANNUAL MEETING OF COUNCIL CENTENARY CAMP PROPOSAL (Per United Press Association) HASTINGS, Nov. 18. Her Excellency, Lady Galway, Dominion president, occupied the chair at the annual meeting of, the council of the Girl Guides’ Association held here yesterday. Commenting on the outstanding events of the year in connection with the Girl Guides Movement, her Excellency said the Guides’ Coronation message had given great pleasure to their Majesties. She also mentioned the generosity of Dr and Miss Elmslie, who had recently given a permanent camp site at Annat for the use of Guides. Miss Ruth Herrick, chief commissioner for New Zealand, said she hoped to have a centenary camp for 1000 Guides in 1940.
