BURIED AT SEA
DEATH OF AUCKLAND MAN PASSENGER ON RANGITATA (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 17. Following a brief illness, the death occurred of a tourist-class passenger, Mr Joseph George Wayne, of Devonport, when the liner Rangitata was approaching Panama on her voyage from London to New Zealand. Mr Wayne, who was travelling alone, was to have been met by his family upon the arrival of the ship at Auckland. „,, ~ , Representatives of the ship s company and a number of passengers assembled on deck for the burial service. The last rites were performed by Archdeacon Jermyn, in association with Bishop West-Wat-son. of Christchurch, both of whom were returning by the Rangitata from England.
