“THE SHINING HOUR”

A SHOW WEEK ATTRACTION The play-going public of Dunedin should welcome the presentation of “The Shining Hour,” the Repertory Society’s production, which will be staged in His Majesty’s Theatre for a season of four nights, commencing on November 24. The society has, during the few years of its existence, presented some excellent plays, and with the outstanding and wellbalanced cast selected to appear in this* delightful and unusual comedydrama, it is confidently expected that new records will be set with “ The Shining Hour.” The scene is a Yorkshire farmhouse, and the, play concerns the varying emotions of the inmates, consequent upon the arrival in their midst of a beautiful sister-in-law, and the action works up to a highly dramatic climax. Miss Dorothy Clark, whose flair foi dramatic work is well known, plays the leading feminine role and is ably supported by Misses Elsie McPeak and Mercia Hardman, while Messrs Roland Watson, Leslie Pithie and Frank Lanyon, all experienced amateurs, complete a very satisfying cast.

The box plans will be opened today for members and for the general public to-morrow morning at 9 o’clock at the D.I.C.
