CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES
THE LAW REFORM ACT AMENDMENT TO BE CONSIDERED (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Nov. 17! A promise that consideration would be given to possible alteration of the Law Reform Act, 1936, as it applies to claims for damages was given by the Attorney-general (Mr H. G. R. Mason) in -the House of Representatives this afternoon in v reply to a question by Mr A. C. A. Sexton (Ind., Franklin), who sgid that a large number of motorists did not realise that an accident might now result in a verdict for heavy damages being given against them far in excess of their insurance cover. “Consideration will be given to the question of an alteration in the law,” said Mr Mason in his Deply.
