"A TIMELY WORD"

TO THE EDITOB Sir, —In your leading article "A Timely Word," in the Daily Times of last Saturday you conclude with the following words:—"The church demands much and her members wonder why her power is not greater. They themselves are the answers to their own question. If they only lived out their own lives as they should then it may be suggested that the kingdom for which they yearn would come." If it was Paul's duty to live in Christ it is no less that of every Christian What was there in his case that made it his duty to " live unto Christ," which does not- exist in the case of every sincere Christian on earth? But it is to be regretted that many within the Church have not made this the aim and purpose of their souls. When men reach extraordinary elevations in religion, like Baxter, Payson and Edwards, they gained only what they meant to gain and the gay and wordly professors of religion, who have little comfort and peace, have in fact the characters which they designed to have. Christ's Kingdon will not come until his disciples are such " living epistles, known and read of all men." When Christians learn to do all things as unto Christ then will the Church arise and her light come.—l am, etc.. J. D. BrownMosgiel, November 15.
