OTAGO ASSOCIATION ONE-DAY MATCHES ON NOVEMBER 27 The regular meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Association last evening, over which Mr A. H. Allen presided, discussed arrangements for the Country Week tournament, which is to be held on November 25, 26, and 27. The secretary reported that the Vincent Subassociation and the South Otago and Southland Associations had advised that they would send teams to take part in the tournament. The Manioloto Sub-association was endeavouring to send a team, and the chairman suggested that if Maniototo could not send an eleven, it might be possible for North Otago and Maniototo to combine. The tournament will constitute matches between the visiting teams on the first two days, and two matches against Dunedin teams on the third day, a Saturday. Combined country teams will play a First Grade and an Intermediate eleven from Dunedin clubs. It had already been decided to postpone the First Grade, Intermediate, and Second Grade A championship matches on that date, and it was decided to fill in the day by playing an unofficial series of-one-day matches in those Effldcs. A letter was received from the Dunedin Club protesting against the association's refusal to accept its entry of two teams in the Second Grade A Competition. It was felt that the entry of a second team had not been given the consideration that it deserved, the letter stated. It was considered that district clubs should receive preference over closed clubs—The objection was referred to the Grading Committee. The secretary to the New Zealand Cricket Council forwarded copies of the resolutions carried at the annual meeting of delegates to the New Zealand Association. This was supplemented by a report from Mr Allen, the Otago delegate to the conference. Mr Allen was thanked for his work at the conference and for his report. The Wellington Association advised its acceptance of February 4,5, 7 and 8 as the dates of the Otago-Welling-ton Plunket Shield match at Dunedin.
