WEDDINGS

Wickens —Reed On the evening of November 2, at First Church, the wedding wassolemnised of Miriam Evelyn, only daughter of Mrs and the late Mr J, W. Reed, of Naseby, and Frank John, only son of Mr and the late Mrs F. Wickens, also of Naseby. The Rev. W. A. Stevely performed the ceremony, and Dr Galway was organist. Friends of the bride decorated the church in clematis, stock, and Iceland poppies. The bride entered the church with her brother, Mr W. Reed, of Dunedin. She was attired in an ivory frock of satin, moulded to the figure, and forming a small train. The square neck was relieved with a small spray of orange blossom, while the sleeves gathered at the shoulder were tight fitting to the wrist, and trimmed with small satin buttons. Her veil of net was caught about the head with a halo of orange blossom. A shower bouquet of white roses, lilac and lily of the valley, with maidenhair fern, was carried by her. She was attended by her cousin, Miss June Moore, who wore a frock of blue organdie, the skirt being very full and trimmed with blue satin ribbon and finished with small bows. She wore a wreath of silver leaves, and carried a shower bouquet of pink roses, forget-me-nots and maidenhair fern. Mr H. W. Reed, of Naseby, was best man. Mr H. O. Reed and Mr J, Sarginson, both of Dunedin, were ushers in the church. The reception was held at the Vedic Cafe, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a twopiece ensemble of brown, with brown hat, and carried an autumn-tinted bouquet. She was assisted by Mrs J. Sarginson, who wore a green frock, with fawn toque and fur. Her bouquet was to tone.
