Glasgow's police force is to be increased this year by 100 men. The Chief Constable asked for an increase of the force by 327 men, but the remainder of 'his increase will be spread over a period of seven years. The original of Little Lord Fauntleroy, who was Mr Vivian Burnett (Mrs Hodgson Burnett's son), has passed away in New York, his death being due to a heart attack after helping to rescue four people from drowning.
