AN ARMED HOLD-UP COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE (Pick United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., Oct. 27. They were also charged with stealing at Fernhill a pistol, fountain pen, and £7 from a farmer. Both were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The accused in statements to the police, detailed how masks were purchased for the purpose of robbing people and rubber gloves bought in order to leave no fingerprints on a dairy which they had intended to ■ rob. It was planned that one of them should knock the taxi driver on the head, but this was not resorted to.
