The Weather The continued spell of dry weather has assumed a serious aspect, and has developed into something in the nature of a drought. The pastoral country, generally, is in a parched state, and young crops are almost at a stage where, unless copious rain falls, they will be seriously affected. Not for many years has such a dry season been experienced locally, and if it continues the farming community will be gravely concerned about an impending scarcity of feed. Labour Week-end The Labour week-end traffic both through and in the town was particularly heavy, and all places of accommodation were booked out several days before the week-end, many visitors being unable to obtain lodgings in the town. That there was a large number travelling was evidenced by the fact that all places of business catering for the travelling public report an exceptionally busy week-end. The fine weather ruling was all in favour of holiday-makers. Advertising pays its way often many times over. It will permit lower prices through increased volume. It can reduce selling costs. It can l?s£cn the time in which a product moves from factory to consumer.
