This was followed by competitions, “ The pantry guessing ” being won by Mrs Barr, with Miss Mills second; “ Knitting with matches,” Miss ' Kelcher 1, Mrs Cooper 2; “Lighted candle race,” Mrs Mcßeath I, Mrs McGimpsey 2; “Mystery parcel, Mrs McGimpsey; “Lucky cup,” Mrs Morris; “ Lucky plate,” Miss B. Miller. Miss V. Martin gave a recitation and Miss Parker a pianoforte solo. At afternoon tea Miss Ross cut the cake made by Mrs Perry and iced by Mrs Barr. Greetings were received from the Eveline, Waianakarua, and Waiareka Women’s Institutes, and also from the Kia Ora and Maheno Women’s Divisions.
