HIGH SCHOOL MATCH , OLD BOYS v. PRESENT '■> ’ .1 A friendly game was played at the High School yesterday between past and present boys. The present boys had first use of the wicket and ran up a total of 112. The first five batsmen played well, Hunt being the most impressive. The opportunity of playing against the Otago slow bowler, L. Groves, gave the pupils much-needed practice against this type of bowling. After Old Boys had had a knock they sent their young opponents to the wickets again, and at stumps the latter had lost three wickets for 54. Rennie and Hunt came to light again with scores of 18 and 20 not out respectively. Bowling for School. Overton put up a good performance, and continues to show the promise displayed against Old Boys last season. The official annual match is to be played on Show Day, so by that time players on both sides should be in form. Scores:— HIGH SCHOOL First Innings.
