Dr A. R. Andrew left by the express on Saturday to attend a meeting at Wellington of the Academic Board of the University of New Zealand. Mr G. M. Corbet, of Invercargill, was a through passenger by the north express on Saturday. Major B. S. Bevan Dodds and Captain O. Rout, of the Dental Corps, left on Saturday to attend a camp at Burnljam.

Mr E. S. Hobson, after acting as relieving master at M'Glashan College, left by the second express on Saturday morning for Wellington, where he will commence his duties as resident master at the Boys’ College. At the conclusion of the programme of the third concert of the Mosgiel Musical Society, the president (Mr A. F, Cheyne) presented Miss Linda Dyer (one of the members) with a wedding gift on the occasion of her approaching marriage.

In the list published'on Saturday morning of the results of the term examinations of the University of Otago the name of Mr R. A. P. Cox was inadvertently omitted from the list of those passing in currency and banking and public finance for Economics 11.

The appointment is announced, (says a Press Association message) of Mr L. S. Lipscombe, first assistant district public trustee at Christchurch, to the position of inspector at head office, Wellington. Mr A. H. Ihle, district public trustee at Greymouth, will succeed Mr Lipscombe as first assistant district public trustee, Christchurch. Mr W. Kane, second assistant district public trustee of Christchurch, will take Mr Ihle’s place at Greymouth. Mr J. W. D. Mardon, senior estates clerk at Wellington, will succeed Mr Kane at Christchurch.

The Union Airways liner Korimako left the Taieri airport at 8.15 on Saturday for Christchurch, Blenheim, and Palmerston North with Messrs J. Cummings and F. Wallace for Christchurch, Messrs J. C. Spedding and E. C. Hartridge for Wellington and Miss M. P. Lumsden and H. V. Gough for Palmerston North. The Kuaka arrived from the north at I. p.m. with Mrs Jowsey, Messrs H. Mangham and M. McPherson from Palmerston North, Mr W. Hindle from Wellington, and Messrs F Maurice Clarke, J. McClusky, F. E. McKenzie, and G. F. Dunn from Christchurch). The Kuaka left the Taieri again at 8.15 a.m. yesterday with Miss M. Robertson, Messrs J. Ainger and F. E. McKenzie for Christchurch, Mr W. Hindle for Wellington and Messrs F. Maurice Clarke and H. Mangham for Palmerston North. The Karoro arrived from the north at 1.15 p.m. with Mr M. Bright from Palmerston North, Mr W. Sumner from Wellington, Mrs G. S. Moffit and two children from Nelson, and Mr C. Newbury from Christchurch.

The funeral of Mr William Allan took place at Mosgiel on Saturday afternoon, and was attended by a large number of mourners. Members of Lodge St. John, No. 8 (Masonic), and Loyal Mosgiel Lodge (Oddfellows) paraded. At the graveside Dr J. D. Salmond (moderator of Dunedin Presbytery) conducted the burial service, and he was assisted by Professor J. Collie. Wor. Master A. E. Blair read the Masonic service. The Revs. D. N. Mackenzie (West Taieri), A. W. Armstrong (Green Island), H. A. Mitchell and R T. Dodds (Dunedin), and Messrs W. H. Adams and John Dick (members of the presbytery) were present. The Revs. John Bates (Kurow) and J. Steele (Oamaru) travelled to Mosgiel to attend the funeral. Professor T. Adams, Dr J. R. Elder and Mr Magnus Johnson were amongst the mourners from Dunedin A memorial service will be conducted by the Revs. Hugh Graham and Professor Collie next Sunday at East Taieri Church.
