SUSTENANCE FRAUDS
ACCUSED USES FALSE NAME ONE MONTH'S IMPRISONMENT (Per United Press Association! AUCKLAND, Oct. 22. Pleading guilty to having made false declarations in obtaining sustenance money, Jack Thompson was sentenced to one month's imprisonment and was fined £lO. Mr C. R. Orr Walker. S.M.. after hearing the evidence, said that Thompson had made 15 false declarations, and on 11 of them he had obtained £" odd. He had given a false name. CASES IN WELLINGTON MONETARY PENALTIES IMPOSED (Per United Press Association! WELLINGTON, Oct. 22. Fines totalling £2f were imposed to-day on Joseph Barber on one of five charges in connection with sustenance frauds. Other fines imposed were £lO on Edward George Beazley on one of three charges, £7 on Daniel McEwan on one of two charges, and £4 on Edward Rowen on one of two charges.
