TRIAL OF MONTAGUE
PREPARATIONS COMPLETE AN ALLEGED HOLD-UP ELIZABETHTOWN, Oct. 21. Preparations are complete for th* trial of Montague. The prosecution will be opened in the morning, when the district attorney will plead for an interpretation of the law without sentiment. The jury consists of men. A message received on September 10 stated: The golfer John Montague was arraigned and pleaded not guilty. Montague declared that he did not know Roger Norton, who has already served 30 months' imprisoonment for his share of the hold-up with which Montague is charged. HEARING OF EVIDENCE NEW YORK, Oct. 22. (Received Oct. 22, at 10 p.m.) Pointing across the court room, Roger Norton, who served two years' imprisonment for the crime with which Montague is charged, identified Montague as his companion on that occasion. Norton described the hold-up of a roadhouse from which they stole 700 dollars.
