OFFICIAL FORECAST MAINLY FAIR TO FINE The following is the official weather forecast: — An anti-cyclone was crossing the Dominion yesterday, and an extensive cyclonic depression is centred far to the north-east. At the same time, pressures are low and conditions disturbed over south-eastern Australia and the western Tasman Sea. / Indications are for:— Winds. —South-easterly about and north of Cook Strait, moderate mainly in force, but strong in some exposed positions; elsewhere light to moderate and variable at first, but north-easter-lies soon' prevailing, and later freshening. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rather rough about Cook Strait and on the east coast of the North Island; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate easterly winds, backing to northerlies and freshenmg; seas moderate, but later rising. Weather. —For the most part fair to fine, some scattered rains probable, however, in the far north and in eastern districts, later some showers probable also in the far south, and cloud gradually Increasing generally; temperatures mild.
