FINNS IN KARELIA
A NUMBER ANNIHILATED
WORKING FOR GERMANY MOSCOW, Sept. 16. (Received Sept. 16, at 8 p.m.) It has been announced that a group of Finns who occupied leading posts in Karelia, a Republic bordering on Finland, were annihilated. Secret police allege.that the Finns crossed the frontier disguised as Communist .refugees under instructions from the German Intelligence Department, and organised an infantry brigade, which in the event of war would seize Karelia and cut off the strategic Kilsky Peninsula and the Murmansk railway.
