WRONG MAN PAINTED
PICTURE OF GALLIPOLI HERO STATEMENT BY HISTORIAN SYDNEY, Sept. 16. Dr Bean (Australian official war historian) stated that the picture, " Man With the Donkey," purchased by the South Australian Government, is not that of the Gallipoli hero. James Simpson. The pictlire, it was revealed yesterday, was painted from a photograph of an unidentified man with a donkey.
