TWENTY-FOURTH ANNUAL REUNION CELEBRATIONS The week-end—Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday evening—was of particular importance to members of the Otago University Women’s Association in that it marked the celebration of their twenty-fourth annual reunion. As Miss F. M. Allan (president) suggested in a felicitous speech of welcome on Saturday evening. the fact that the reunion took place every year at springtime was a significant one. The freshness of the season seemed to communicate itself to the members with the result that every year, the reunion seemed to be more successful than the last. The first function took place in the Somerset Lounge of the Savoy on Saturday, when the annual meeting was held and a social evening enjoyed. Miss Allan was unanimously re-elected to the position of president, and Miss M. Steven to that of secretary. Lady Sidey, Dr Siodeberg M'Kinnon. Mrs G. E. Thompson and Miss F. Ross were re-elected vice-presidents; and the past committee—Mrs W. Borrie. Mrs R. D. Nimmo, Dr Bathgate, and Misses H. M'Rae, K. A. Morrell and A. Gumming —was re-elected, with the addition of Miss Anne Hill. During the evening Miss Allan spoke charmingly of various members of the association, and of two members who had died since the past reunion, the members standing in silence as a tribute to their memory. Mrs Peter Milne, the representative of the association on the National Council of Women, reported on the work of the council, and Miss Lucy Morton, who is on the committee of the Otago University Court of Convocation gave a description of the last meeting of the court. A duet by Mrs Maurice Watt and Mrs Norman Gamble, accompanied by Miss Ida G. White, was much appreciated during the evening. On Saturday afternoon the members of the association went to the Botanic Gardens, where, at the Kiosk, they were the guests at tea of a member who wished to be anonymous. The afternoon was one in which the gardens were seen to the best advantage. Miss Ross, on behalf of those present, expressed thanks to the anonymous donor for a pleasant and enjoyable outing. The final event of the reunion was a service at Ross Chapel, on Sunday evening, when Miss Allan read the lessons, Professor T. D. Adams played the organ, and the Rev. Dr Merrington delivered the sermon. The members then went to “ The Lodge.” Knox College, where they were the guests of Dr and Mrs Merrington at supper
