TERRIFIC HEAT
TEMPERATURES IN AMERICA EASTERN STATES SWELTERING SEVEN DEATHS IN NEW YORK (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) NEW YORK, Aug. 21. (Received Aug. 22, at 9 p.m.) The eastern portion of the United States is prostrated by a savage heat wave. The temperatures yesterday and to-day were 93.3 and 92 respectively, breaking all records for those dates. Humidity was 94 per cent. Seven deaths have been attributed to heat in New York.
