KING'S MESSAGE OF SYMPATHY "DEATH OF OLD FRIEND" (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, June 21. (Received June 22, at 5.5 p.m.) The King sent a message of sympathy to Mr Peter Davies, the adopted son of the late Sir James Barrie, as follows:—" The Queen and I are so grieved at the death of our old friend. His loss will be universally mourned, for his writing has brought joy and inspiration to young and old alike."
